If you recognize the Moose to the right, you probably know it's the mascot of the Loose Moose Theatre Company of Calgary.  Shawn has been a member of the Loose Moose since the 80's where he has performed, taught, directed and played.

The Loose moose is the birth place of improvisation formats that are played in over 50 countries around the world.  Keith Johnstone, globally recognized as "Impro guru extraordinaire" co-founded the Loose Moose and can often be found there developing new and twisted ideas.

Why "Loose and Moose"?  Creators of the company, Mel Tonkin and Keith Johnstone were looking for an indigenous Canadian animal with "attitude".  As for "Loose"... It's obvious isn't it?

Shawn is one of the main instructors at the Loose Moose International Summer School.  (And he decorates for the big reception every year.)

Notes to improvisors... "Don't play the games to look clever."  "Look behind you... no, really.  That's where you'll find the end of the scene - not in front of you.  Reincorporate."  "Make the others look good."  "Look behind you!! - OK that time I thought I saw something".  "Don't try to be creative."  "Be inspired, attentive to others and play."

Workshops on Improvisation are adapted for the needs of the group.
